Why Bodywork?

As we move through life as energetic beings our entire makeup is constantly changing, both internally and externally.
Every moment of our experience influences our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual perspectives.

Integrating mind and body is a necessity to move through life with ease.

Traditional bodywork practices and techniques can be useful to promote health and well-being, and are most effective when the receiver is in a relaxed state of mind, present in treatment and prepared to follow the general health directive of the attending therapist, be it through diet (consumption), exercise (movements) or rest (recovery).

Massage Therapy helps restore muscle function, promoting fluid movement in both voluntary and
    involuntary (our organs) muscles.
Cranial Sacral Therapy helps enhance cerebral fluid production and flow, resetting the innate
    rhythm of the body.
Manual Therapy exercises the joints, improving ligament function and structural stability.
Reiki or Energy Medicine clears, relaxes and restores Chakra (Energy Center) function,
clearing the physical, mental and emotional bodies thereby enhancing spiritual connection.
Acupuncture or pressure stimulates meridian points promoting communication and flow between
   varying areas within the body.

Here are a few tips to help you get the most from your next bodywork session.

  • Be aware of your current physical, mental and emotional state, share with the therapist as much general information as comfortable,  this will help direct their focus for the treatment.
  • Drink a cup of calming tea, Chamomile works well, before and/or after treatment to promote relaxation.   The longer the body is in a relaxed state the more familiar that state will become.
  • Be sure you are well hydrated,  bodywork can be considered a passive form of exercise creating toxic by product that needs to be flushed from the system to decrease muscle soreness.
  • Notice both immediate and gradual changes post treatment and communicate them to the therapist prior to the next session, this will indicate responsiveness to treatment.
And of course Enjoy!!!

Please remember bodywork, as with any form of personal care, should both enhance function and life vitality.  It should leave you feeling better than before you sought care.
